NIGERIA SUCCESSFUL IN IMPLEMENTING HICC DECISIONS




The Vice President, Alhaji Mohammed Namadi Sambo, has said tremendous progress has been achieved in the implementation of the decisions of the Honourary International Investors Council in its twelve years of existence.

Speaking at the opening of the 13th Meeting of the HIIC in London, Thursday, Vice President Sambo said ‘much action has been  taken and significant progress has been made’ in implementing the decisions taken at the 11th and 12thSessions in Paris and Abuja, respectively.
‘Those sessions highlighted the need for competiveness of the Nigerian economy, ports and Customs reforms, power sector upgrade, security and a new visa policy’, he stated, adding that the Administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has taken  great strides in these areas of national development.

A statement by SSambo’s media aide, Sani Umar, said he (the Vice President) had informed the meeting that three out of the ten new thermal power plants were already adding power supply to the national grid, while the others were at 90% completion.
